ICoMEIA 2024

Ethical Guidelines

At ICoMEIA 2024, we prioritize ethical standards in research and expect authors, reviewers, and editors to uphold these principles throughout the publication process. The following ethical considerations should be taken into account:

1. Plagiarism and Originality
– Authors must ensure that their submissions are original work and properly cite sources when using the work or ideas of others.
– Plagiarism, in any form, is strictly prohibited. All borrowed content must be appropriately acknowledged and referenced.

2. Authorship and Contributorship
– All individuals who have made substantial contributions to the work should be listed as authors. Proper credit should be given to all contributors.
– Authors are responsible for obtaining consent from all contributors and ensuring their approval for the final manuscript.

3. Conflict of Interest
– Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research, review process, or publication decisions.
– Conflicts of interest may include financial, personal, or professional relationships that could be perceived as affecting objectivity.

4. Ethical Treatment of Subjects
– Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical standards and obtain necessary approvals from relevant institutional review boards or ethics committees.
– Authors should provide explicit details about informed consent, confidentiality, and procedures followed in studies involving human or animal subjects.

5. Data Integrity and Transparency
– Authors should ensure the accuracy and integrity of their data and provide sufficient detail to allow others to verify and replicate the findings.
– Any manipulation, fabrication, or falsification of data is considered unethical and unacceptable.

6. Publication and Research Misconduct
– ICoMEIA 2024 adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and takes seriously any cases of suspected research misconduct.
– Authors, reviewers, or editors involved in misconduct will be subject to appropriate actions, including retraction of published work and exclusion from future submissions or editorial roles.

Authors submitting to ICoMEIA 2024 are expected to comply with these ethical guidelines. Failure to adhere to these standards may result in rejection of the submission or retraction of published work.
